Attendance Policies and Member Responsibilities

Effective April 15th, 2004 , (revised 8/06) the following policies and procedures are in effect for members and guests of Denver Metro Chamber Leads Group #1:

Members:

1. Attendance is critical for giving and receiving leads. Therefore, the following attendance policy is in effect:

  • You are allowed no more than three (3) excused absences each quarter. In order for an absence to be excused, you must notify the current leads group President or Vice President by phone or email prior to the start of the meeting. Emails must be received by 5pm the day before the meeting and phone calls may be received anytime prior to the 7am start of the meeting. This is not in addition to unexcused absences.
  • You are allowed no more than two (2) unexcused absences each quarter. An unexcused absence is declared when a member does not communicate a reason for an excused absence prior to the 7am start of the meeting
  • Inclement weather/dangerous driving conditions is automatically an excused absence if you confirm that as the reason for your absence by noon the day of the missed meeting.
  • Upon your second unexcused or third excused absence you will be notified of your pending "drop" status. You will receive an email notice from the President that you are in violation of the policy. You will be notified that your position will become open unless you address the group as to your commitment to continue as a member. If the group agrees, you will be reinstated. If you are reinstated and then miss another meeting that quarter, you will be immediately terminated from the group.
  • If you do not respond to the email notice at or before the next meeting, then it will be announced -at that meeting- that you have left the group and your position/category is officially open.
  • If you arrive at the meeting after the commercials have started, that will count as ½ of an unexcused absence (unless weather-related). You also lose your right to present your one-minute commercial. If you leave before the conclusion of the meeting, this also counts as ½ of an excused absence.

2. Remember speaking slots are reserved using our web site [www.leadsgroupone.com]. It is your responsibility to go there to request a speaking slot. Speakers are responsible for coordinating food for their presentation. If a speaker withdrawals from a scheduled slot, then that speaker is responsible for finding a replacement. If the withdrawal occurs more than two weeks prior to the scheduled slot it can be done by emailing Gary to open the slot on the website. If it is within 2 weeks, the speaker is responsible for notifying the group and finding a replacement.

3. Meetings begin at 7:00 a.m. with informal networking. One-minute commercials normally begin at 7:15 a.m. The meeting ends at about 8:45 a.m. We break at 7:58 a.m. to put money in the parking meters. It is a good idea to put in enough money for the next 45 minutes so you don't have to rush out if you are in the midst of an interesting discussion.

4. Please make it a point to visit our web site [www.leadsgroupone.com] at least once a week. This is also a good place to direct prospective new members.

5. It is every member's responsibility to help grow the group by inviting prospective members. Please make it a point to invite a guest at least once each quarter.

6. Annual leads group dues must be paid to the Chamber no later than the end of September each year or you are automatically dropped from the group and must petition for reinstatement. You must also pay your Chamber dues on time to remain a group member.

Leads group participation is a benefit of membership in the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce.
More than 300 members are currently enrolled in 16 authorized DMCC leads groups.
